Course content: 

This course introduces students to the biblical foundations of marriage and family life. The three-month lecture phase targets five major themes related to effective ministry to families: the biblical model of family; God's design for marriage; godly parenting; Christian family counseling principles; and the role of the family in ministry.

Students can anticipate personal development, family growth and skill development throughout the course. Each student is encouraged to integrate the course material into his or her personal and family life as a preparation for effective ministry to other families.

  • marriage and family restoration and enrichment
  • building relationships within the family
  • communication skills
  • basic family counseling skills
  • pre-marital counseling
  • normal and abnormal sexuality
  • addiction
  • divorce and remarriage
  • personality test
  • ministering to families in need and marriage/family seminar training.

 

Prerequisites:
Prospective students are required to have satisfactorily completed a YWAM DTS and outreach.
